Lindsey Buckingham is best known as one of the members of Fleetwood Mac, with whom he found incredible commercial success throughout several decades. He has also produced and released music on his own, as well as one half of Buckingham Nicks, which recently earned a hit album with its decades-out-of-print self-titled set that credited both him and future Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks.
Currently, Buckingham has a hit on the charts in the United Kingdom under his own name alongside Miley Cyrus, as the two collaborated on her tune “Secrets.” As that cut gains traction again, it helps Buckingham return to his all-time high point on one ranking, more than half a century into his time as a musical superstar.
Lindsey Buckingham Charts His First Solo Smash
“Secrets” appears on two charts across the Atlantic this week, and it climbs to new highs on both of them simultaneously. The pop-rock collaboration lifts from No. 18 to No. 13 on the Official Singles Downloads list – which ranks only the strongest sellers on platforms like iTunes, Amazon, and others – and from No. 20 to No. 16 on the Official Singles Sales tally – which isn’t focused on either where the purchases take place, nor what format a song is available on. “Secrets” marks Buckingham’s first hit on those rosters under his own name.

As “Secrets” pushes to No. 13 on the ranking of the bestselling downloads across the country, Buckingham finds himself in the loftiest spot he’s ever reached. Fleetwood Mac’s timeless classic “Dreams” made it to the same position in October 2020, after the decades-old cut suddenly went viral in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic, becoming a shocking hit.
How Did Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” Perform on the Charts?
Over on the Official Singles Sales tally, “Secrets” doesn’t quite manage to match Buckingham’s top showing, but it comes close. The song settles in at No. 16, just two spaces beneath where “Dreams” peaked – No. 14 – several years back.
Which Miley Cyrus Singles Have Hit No. 1?
Cyrus, of course, is no stranger to success, as she has ranked among the top pop stars in the world for many years. On the Official Singles Sales chart, the Grammy winner has already led the charge four times, with “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” alongside Mark Ronson, “Don’t Call Me Angel” with Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey, and her solo singles “Midnight Sky” and “Flowers.”

The superstar has been even more successful on the Official Singles Downloads ranking, where she has collected a total of seven champions. That list includes the four previously mentioned hits, as well as “We Can’t Stop,” “Wrecking Ball,” and “Used to Be Young.”
“Secrets” Leads the Deluxe Edition of Something Beautiful
Cyrus released “Secrets” in mid-September when she shared the deluxe edition of her 2025 album Something Beautiful. The original version featured 13 tracks, while the expanded edition added two more: “Secrets” and “Lockdown,” the latter featuring fellow rock icon David Byrne.
Miley Cyrus’s “End of the World” and “Easy Lover”
“Secrets” was intended to reinvigorate interest in Something Beautiful, as the much-hyped album underperformed globally when it dropped in late spring. None of the singles from the set — including “End of the World” and “Easy Lover” — became the smashes Cyrus is accustomed to producing, especially following her previous era, which unleashed “Flowers,” easily the most successful song of her career, onto the world.
Mick Fleetwood Left Off the Charts
“Secrets” officially cites both Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood, though occasionally, when a track reaches the Official Charts Company’s rankings, not all credited names appear. For one reason or another, it seems that this tune’s chart recognition goes only to Cyrus and Buckingham, while Fleetwood is left out entirely.
