US President Donald Trump has indicated a potential review of the legal case against Samourai Wallet developers, as calls for their pardon intensify from the crypto community. This signal aligns with Trump's pro-crypto stance, raising hopes for leniency in a high-profile case involving Bitcoin privacy tools and allegations of money laundering.

Trump's Signal on Samourai Wallet Case
In recent remarks or social media posts, Trump suggested his administration might examine the prosecution of Samourai Wallet's developers, Keonne Rodriguez and William Hill, who face charges of operating an unlicensed money transmission business and facilitating $2 billion in illicit transactions. The case, brought by the DOJ in 2024, centers on Samourai's Whirlpool mixer, accused of enabling money laundering.

Trump's hint comes amid his pledges to make the US a "crypto superpower," including protecting privacy-focused tools. "We'll look into cases where innovation is being stifled," Trump reportedly said, fueling speculation of a pardon or reduced charges.

Growing Calls for Pardon
The crypto community, including figures like Edward Snowden and the Electronic Frontier Foundation, has rallied for the developers' release, arguing the case criminalizes privacy software. Petitions have garnered over 50,000 signatures, emphasizing that mixers like Samourai enhance user privacy without inherently promoting crime.

This push gains traction post-Trump's election, with his pro-Bitcoin rhetoric—such as proposing a national BTC reserve—resonating with advocates. "A pardon would signal support for crypto innovation," noted Blockchain Association CEO Kristin Smith.

Background of the Samourai Case
Samourai Wallet, a privacy-focused Bitcoin wallet, was seized in April 2024, with developers arrested for allegedly running a service that mixed $100 million in criminal funds. Prosecutors claim it violated US money transmission laws, while defenders argue it's a non-custodial tool, not a money service.

The case highlights tensions between privacy rights and anti-money laundering efforts, influencing global crypto regulations.

Implications for Crypto Policy
A review or pardon could set a precedent for treating privacy tools leniently, boosting US crypto innovation. It might encourage developers to build in the US, countering offshoring trends. However, critics warn it could undermine AML efforts.

Bitcoin rose 2% amid the news, reflecting market optimism. As Trump assembles his team, watch for official actions.

Outlook and Community Response
The signal has energized the crypto space, with #FreeSamourai trending. If pursued, it could redefine US crypto policy. Stay updated on Trump Samourai Wallet review and pardon developments—crypto legal landscapes evolve rapidly.

U.S. Court Finds Pastor Found Guilty in $3M Crypto Scam

The post U.S. Court Finds Pastor Found Guilty in $3M Crypto Scam appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Crime 18 September 2025 | 04:05 A Colorado judge has brought closure to one of the state’s most unusual cryptocurrency scandals, declaring INDXcoin to be a fraudulent operation and ordering its founders, Denver pastor Eli Regalado and his wife Kaitlyn, to repay $3.34 million. The ruling, issued by District Court Judge Heidi L. Kutcher, came nearly two years after the couple persuaded hundreds of people to invest in their token, promising safety and abundance through a Christian-branded platform called the Kingdom Wealth Exchange. The scheme ran between June 2022 and April 2023 and drew in more than 300 participants, many of them members of local church networks. Marketing materials portrayed INDXcoin as a low-risk gateway to prosperity, yet the project unraveled almost immediately. The exchange itself collapsed within 24 hours of launch, wiping out investors’ money. Despite this failure—and despite an auditor’s damning review that gave the system a “0 out of 10” for security—the Regalados kept presenting it as a solid opportunity. Colorado regulators argued that the couple’s faith-based appeal was central to the fraud. Securities Commissioner Tung Chan said the Regalados “dressed an old scam in new technology” and used their standing within the Christian community to convince people who had little knowledge of crypto. For him, the case illustrates how modern digital assets can be exploited to replicate classic Ponzi-style tactics under a different name. Court filings revealed where much of the money ended up: luxury goods, vacations, jewelry, a Range Rover, high-end clothing, and even dental procedures. In a video that drew worldwide attention earlier this year, Eli Regalado admitted the funds had been spent, explaining that a portion went to taxes while the remainder was used for a home renovation he claimed was divinely inspired. The judgment not only confirms that INDXcoin qualifies as a…
