MetaMask, which had long been announcing its Bitcoin integration, has officially launched native Bitcoin (BTC) support.
Accordingly, the cryptocurrency wallet MetaMask has completed the Bitcoin integration, which was first announced earlier this year, and officially added Bitcoin to its list of supported assets.
MetaMask previously supported Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Monad, and Sei blockchains. With this latest update, Bitcoin has also been added to the same list of assets.
This allows users to buy, send, and receive Bitcoin. They can also exchange other assets for Bitcoin.
MetaMask also stated that exchanging BTC within the app will earn you MetaMask Rewards points.
Prior to this integration, MetaMask users could only access BTC in the form of “wrapped Bitcoin.” This latest move provides direct support for the Bitcoin network for the first time.
