Hecklers bushwhack Trump after his Iran deal dies in flames

The very next day after Alternet reported Israeli officials were scheming to destroy President Donald Trump’s unseemly Iran ceasefire deal the MoU collapsed, a victim of Israel's continued attacks in Lebanon.

"Iran dealt two quick blows to the interim agreement with the United States on Saturday, … saying it had closed the Strait of Hormuz and announcing that while its negotiators were going to Switzerland for talks, not much is likely to happen there,” reported the Associated Press.

Iran’s joint military command declared the strait again closed citing Israeli “bad faith” attacks and a “clear breach of [U.S.] commitments” by failing to end the war. Its statement on state television warned that “if the aggression continues, subsequent steps have been planned.”

Moments after the Saturday ceasefire collapsed, critics descended upon social media and dragged Trump’s short-lived bragging over the deal.

“The Strait of Hormuz is closed again. That lasted about as long as the reflection pool paint job,” posted one comedian on X.

“Twenty four hours in and Trump’s Iran deal is going about as well as the rebuilding of Gaza, the democratization of Venezuela, the Day One peace between Ukraine and Russia,” Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) lamented on X.

“Should’ve filled the tank on the truck this week when we had the chance,” growled Nebraska Independent candidate Austin Ahlman.

Another Trump critics called Iran locking down the Strait of Hormuz a “middle finger to the US and Israel.”

“Tehran is calling out Western ‘violations’ and openly warning that suffocating this global oil hotspot is just the beginning,” said the poster. “You f—— around, you find out,” she wrote.

Other social media hecklers, like U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy D-Conn.) immediately too to X and said the collapse was typical of Trump’s handiwork.

“The continuing price of Trump's incompetence. Trump signed a ‘deal’ that was contingent on Israel ending it's disastrous war in Lebanon and apparently he didn't check that with Israel,” said Murphy.

Washington Post reporter John Hudson posted that the breakdown preceded a report that “U.S. intel officials warned that Netanyahu's approach to Lebanon was likely to undermine the Iran deal.”

Zeteo writers Asawin Suebsaeng and Prem Thakker reported as recently as Friday night that say Trump is so desperate to finally be rid of the war he unilaterally began in February that he was wandering around the White House, fretting and panicking that Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu was scheming to drag him back in.

“He’s swearing a lot about it,” one close Trump adviser told Zeteo. Another Trump administration official said: “[R]ight now, he’s definitely madder at the Israelis than the Iranians.”

Now, say critics, Trump can stop fretting about the threat and start fretting over the consequences.
