BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — Nueva Vizcaya has exceeded its revenue target for 2025 after collecting P2.8 billion, or 110.64% of its goal, the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Treasury Office said.
Provincial Treasurer Rhoda S. Moreno said local revenues reached P428.25 million, while external sources contributed P2.37 billion.
She attributed the achievement to the support of Governor Jose V. Gambito and provincial officials in improving collection systems and strengthening financial management.
For 2026, the province has already collected P1.055 billion as of April 30, equivalent to 34.1% of its annual target. Of the amount, P191.9 million came from local sources and P863.1 million from external sources, putting the province on track to meet its year-end goal.
The treasury also improved its services through digitalization, Ms. Moreno said, because it adopted new electronic collection and reporting systems that reduced processing time and improved collection efficiency, making transactions faster and more convenient for taxpayers.
Ms. Moreno also urged property owners to take advantage of the ongoing real property tax amnesty, which waives penalties and interest on unpaid taxes. The amnesty will run until July 5, after which the provincial government is expected to intensify enforcement against delinquent taxpayers. — Artemio A. Dumlao
