As a partial shutdown of the United States' federal government drags on, major airports are reporting unusually long security lines.

More than 300 employees of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), according to CBS News, have left the agency during the shutdown. And the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) told USA Today, "Today, travelers are facing TSA lines of up to nearly 3 hours long at some major airports, causing missed flights and massive delays during peak travel."

President Donald Trump and other MAGA Republicans are blaming Democrats for the shutdown, but conservative MS NOW host Joe Scarborough predicted that most voters will blame Republicans — not Democrats — for the long airport lines.

During a Thursday morning, March 12 broadcast of "Morning Joe," images of long lines at U.S. airports — from Houston to Minneapolis to Newark, New Jersey — appeared on the screen before Scarborough told fellow host Mika Brzezinski, "So, we have billions of dollars jammed into the DHS for internment camps, for all these other things. But they're not paying TSA agents?"

Scarborough attacked MAGA Republicans for "making TSA agents sleep in their cars" while they "struggle to pay the rent."

The Never Trump conservative and former GOP congressman told Brzezinski, "It's obscene. It's just obscene…. Long lines at airports — if Republicans think Americans are going to say, 'Oh, this must be the Democrats,' no. Republicans are in charge. They're in charge of the White House. They're in charge of the Supreme Court. They're in charge of Congress. They're in charge of the House. They're in charge of the Senate. If they think for a second that Americans are going to look at those long lines and blame anybody but Republicans, they're kidding themselves…. This is very simple for the American people: Republicans run Washington, D.C."
