The Graph partners with Blockchain for Social Impact Coalition to honor winners of the 2020 Decentralized Impact Incubator, showcasing innovative solutions for global challenges.

The Graph, a leading indexing and query protocol, has joined forces with the Blockchain for Social Impact Coalition (BSIC) to recognize the winners of the 2020 Decentralized Impact Incubator. This initiative aimed to foster blockchain-based solutions addressing global social and environmental challenges, according to The Graph.

Innovative Solutions for Sustainability

The Decentralized Impact Incubator, a six-week program, provided a platform for participants worldwide to develop innovative blockchain solutions. Teams were tasked with designing business models, drafting proposals, and coding prototypes to tackle issues aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The program, supported by BSIC, a not-for-profit organization, culminated in grants for the most promising projects.

The Graph played a significant role in the incubator by sponsoring the event and awarding bonus prizes to standout projects. The Plastic and Pollution category saw Abundance and CO2Ken receive accolades for their innovative approaches. Abundance, a community donation platform, and CO2Ken, a carbon footprint accounting ecosystem, were both praised for their potential impact.

Empowering Social Change

In the Sustainable Cities category, the project Wolfpack was recognized for its efforts to empower the homeless through gig economy tools. The Graph co-founder Yaniv Tal expressed admiration for these projects, highlighting their potential to drive significant social change.

The Graph’s involvement in the incubator aligns with its mission to facilitate the development of decentralized applications on Web3. The protocol’s tools, such as Subgraphs and Substreams, enable developers to access on-chain data efficiently, supporting the creation of data-driven decentralized applications.
