MEXC is our top IBIT Global alternative within this comparison: BTCUSDT perpetuals cost 0% maker and 0.02% taker on MEXC, against 0.040% and 0.060% for IBIT Global's regular users, and Hacken audits MEXC's reserves monthly.
IBIT Global charges nothing to withdraw USDT on BEP20, though MEXC is closed to residents of the US and UK.

Key Takeaways
  • Our pick among IBIT Global alternatives is MEXC, which CoinGecko scored 9 out of 10 on 5 October 2026 and which charges 0% maker and 0.02% taker on BTCUSDT perpetuals.
  • IBIT Global is a crypto exchange with no link we could find to BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust, the ETF listed on Nasdaq as IBIT.
  • IBIT Global's help center lists 0.040% maker and 0.060% taker on perpetual contracts for regular users, with lower rates at VIP levels.
  • Trade $30,000 of futures in a month with 60% resting as limit orders, and the fee bill is $2.40 on MEXC's BTCUSDT against $14.40 at IBIT Global's regular rates.
  • Neither Hong Kong's SFC Alert List nor our wider regulator search named IBIT Global, whereas MEXC faces a Seychelles FSA enforcement notice (May 2026) and Dubai VARA fines (June 2026).
  • For API bots the comparison flips, since MEXC bills API futures at 0.06% maker and 0.08% taker, above IBIT Global's 0.040% and 0.060%.

IBIT Global is a crypto exchange, and we found no connection between it and BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust, the exchange-traded fund whose shares trade on Nasdaq under the ticker IBIT, according to its prospectus.
The shared name sends some searchers to the wrong product, and it also hides a practical question for IBIT Global's own users: how much of what the exchange says about itself can be checked from outside?
Below, fee pages, tracker data and regulator lists supply the answer, and six exchanges are measured against the same checks.

Why Is MEXC Our Top IBIT Global Alternative?

MEXC is our top IBIT Global alternative because the numbers that matter can be checked from outside: CoinGecko tracks and scores it, Hacken audits its reserves monthly, and its fee page shows 0% maker on BTCUSDT perpetuals.
IBIT Global's regular users pay 0.040% to make and 0.060% to take on the same kind of contract.
A trader moving off IBIT Global is usually weighing two things at once: cheaper futures, and an exchange whose claims hold up when someone checks them.
MEXC's answer starts with its Special Rate on BTCUSDT, which waives the maker fee entirely and charges takers 0.02%.
The MEXC fee page shows that rate, and CoinGecko tracked 1,450 coins and about $618 million in MEXC reserves on 5 October 2026.
Hacken's audit of the 10 September 2026 snapshot put BTC reserves at 297% of user holdings, with every audited asset above 1:1.
Run $30,000 of futures through each venue in a month, with 60% of it resting as maker orders, and MEXC's BTCUSDT contract costs $2.40 in fees.
IBIT Global's regular-user rates turn the same month into a $14.40 bill, which adds up to $144.00 a year more than MEXC.
Bybit, OKX, Bitget, KuCoin and Gate land between $8.70 and $10.80.
MEXC's advantage depends on the contract, because the fee page header runs up to 0.040% maker and 0.100% taker, so a pair at the top of that range costs more than IBIT Global's regular rate on the taker side.
Our entry-tier fee comparison lines up the same rates across 12 exchanges.

How Do IBIT Global and Six Alternatives Compare?

Read across each row to see where IBIT Global's published numbers stop: it shows a perpetual fee schedule but leaves spot fees, tracked coins and reserve data blank in the sources we could reach.
Bybit, OKX, Bitget, KuCoin and Gate use numbers already verified for our September 2026 pages, each dated beneath the table.
The method behind our exchange scores is published in full, if you want to see how these columns were chosen.

Which IBIT Are You Leaving?

Two different products share the IBIT name: IBIT Global, a crypto exchange for spot and perpetual futures trading, and BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust, an exchange-traded fund listed on Nasdaq.
Leaving one tells you nothing about the other, so it helps to confirm which one you hold before comparing alternatives.
If you own IBIT shares through a brokerage account, you hold units of a fund that holds bitcoin, and its alternatives are other funds or brokers rather than crypto exchanges.
This guide does not cover that switch.
If you trade on IBIT Global, you hold a crypto account with the exchange, and its help center names IBIT GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY INC as the company behind its US money-services registration.
We found no sign that either product is connected to the other.
A quick test settles it: the fund's shares carry the CUSIP 46438F101 and appear on a brokerage statement, while an exchange balance comes with deposit addresses and a trading account.

Does IBIT Global Pass the Three-Point Trust Check?

IBIT Global names its operating company and draws no regulator warnings in our scan, which covers the third check.
The first two come back empty: CoinGecko has no exchange page for it that we could find, and we located no proof-of-reserves report.
Check 1: tracker coverage.
Liquidity carries half the weight in CoinGecko's Trust Score, ahead of cybersecurity, regulation, incidents and proof of reserves, according to its methodology page.
IBIT Global had no CoinGecko exchange page in our 5 October 2026 search, so none of those components has been scored for it.
MEXC held 9 out of 10 on the same date.
Check 2: reserves on record.
We found no proof-of-reserves report for IBIT Global in its help center or in our searches.
MEXC posts each monthly report on its proof-of-reserves page, and CoinGecko separately lists about $618 million in MEXC exchange reserves.
How much reserves matter shows up after a breach, which our record of exchange hacks and repayments traces across 81 cases.
Check 3: who runs it, and what regulators say.
IBIT Global's help center names IBIT GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY INC as a Money Services Business registered with FinCEN, under registration number 31000255178076.
An MSB registration covers money-transmission rules and is not a licence to run an exchange.
The same page points readers to the National Futures Association for its futures registration, and anyone can test such a claim by searching the firm's name in NFA's BASIC database.
Hong Kong's SFC Alert List carried no IBIT entry in its I section on 5 October 2026, and our search of other regulator warnings found nothing naming IBIT Global.
Turning to MEXC, its CoinGecko profile shows a Comoros international crypto licence, and the tracker labels that framework defined but unproven.
Seychelles' Financial Services Authority went further in a May 2026 press release, naming MX Global Ltd as the operator behind MEXC, finding it unlicensed under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024, and announcing that it is starting enforcement measures.
Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority then fined the same company in June 2026, its notice of fines covering unlicensed services to Dubai customers between 2022 and April 2026 and recording full cooperation with VARA's cease-and-desist orders.

Which Other IBIT Global Alternatives Are Worth a Look?

Each of the five large exchanges below charges futures makers 0.02% or less at entry tier, half of IBIT Global's 0.040% or lower, and each has reserve data on record.
What they give up against MEXC is mainly on spot, where all five charge more, and Bitget also had a security incident in September 2026.

Bybit

Benefits
  • Perpetual makers pay 0.0200%, half of IBIT Global's regular rate.
  • Reserve reports are published monthly.
  • Spot, margin and derivatives share one unified account, with options alongside.
Limitations
  • Its perpetual taker rate of 0.0550% is well above MEXC's 0.02% on BTCUSDT.
  • Every spot trade at the entry tier costs 0.1000%, maker or taker.
  • US and Japanese residents are both outside its service.

OKX

Benefits
  • Its 0.05% perpetual taker rate is lower than IBIT Global's 0.060%.
  • Spot makers pay 0.080% at entry tier.
  • MiCA authorization covers its EU business, and OKJ serves Japan separately.
Limitations
  • Its maker rate on perpetuals, 0.02%, still sits above MEXC's 0% on BTCUSDT.
  • With 306 coins tracked in September, it lists fewer tokens than any of the other four.
  • OKX US, a separate company, handles American customers.

Bitget

Benefits
  • Copy trading is a core product.
  • BGB fee payment drops spot trades to 0.08%.
  • Stock futures are listed next to crypto perpetuals.
Limitations
  • An attack on 24 September 2026 took about $387.5 million from Bitget's hot and warm wallets, and the exchange, which says its Protection Fund covers the loss, has reopened withdrawals in phases since 28 September.
  • Its 0.06% perpetual taker fee matches IBIT Global's.
  • Its Japanese business moves to close-only on 1 November 2026.

KuCoin

Benefits
  • Only Gate lists more coins among the five, with KuCoin at 889 on CoinGecko's September count.
  • Trading bots for grid and recurring-buy strategies are built in.
  • Class A spot trades drop to 0.08% when fees are paid in KCS.
Limitations
  • Taker fills on perpetuals cost 0.06%, no cheaper than IBIT Global.
  • Spot fees rise above 0.1% for Class B and C tokens.
  • American residents are excluded.

Gate

Benefits
  • Gate lists the most coins of the five, 1,534 on CoinGecko's 2 September 2026 count.
  • Takers pay 0.05% on perpetuals, below IBIT Global's 0.060%.
  • In the EU it operates under a MiCA licence obtained in Malta, per Gate.
Limitations
  • Spot trades cost 0.100% each way, and GT payment only trims that to 0.090%.
  • VIP 15 is the first tier with a 0% spot maker rate.
  • Its perpetual maker fee is reported at 0.015% by some sources and 0.02% by others.

What Does IBIT Global Still Do Well?

IBIT Global has genuine strengths, starting with how little it charges to move stablecoins.
Its help center lists a zero fee for USDT withdrawals on BEP20, against 1.5 USDT on TRC20 and 8 USDT on ERC20, with a 25 USDT minimum on each network.
It publishes a coin-by-coin withdrawal table, so the cost of leaving is visible before you start.
A unified trading account, copy trading and LaunchPool events sit in the same app, according to its help center.
VIP levels lower the 0.040% and 0.060% perpetual rates for high-volume traders.
The help center is also available in Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Before you close the account, check whether your destination charges for the stablecoin network you use most.

How Do You Move Funds From IBIT Global?

Close or settle your positions, test the route with a small USDT withdrawal, then send the balance once the test arrives.
On IBIT Global, BEP20 is the free USDT route, though every USDT network carries a 25 USDT minimum per withdrawal.
Step 1: Clear positions and margin.
Close perpetual positions and cancel open orders, since collateral in a unified account stays tied up while it backs an open trade.
Step 2: Send a test amount.
Pick a network the receiving exchange supports, then send at least the 25 USDT minimum as a trial before anything larger.
Step 3: Move the rest.
Withdraw the remaining balance only after the trial shows in your new account, and file the transaction hashes with your tax paperwork.

The MEXC View

These are MEXC's own words about MEXC, so treat them as a first-party position.
IBIT Global's free BEP20 withdrawals and VIP discounts are real advantages, and the regulator notices from Seychelles and Dubai sit on our side of the ledger, not theirs.
What we offer instead is checkability: a CoinGecko score of 9 out of 10, a monthly Hacken audit of our reserves, and a fee page anyone can read before signing up.
If you need an exchange licensed in the US, the UK or the EU, look elsewhere, and if you trade through the API, our 0.06% maker and 0.08% taker futures rates cost more than IBIT Global's regular schedule.
Our own MEXC review, weak points included, goes through the trade-offs in more depth.

Which IBIT Global Alternative Fits Which Trader?

Choose MEXC if you trade BTC perpetuals with resting limit orders and want an exchange that independent trackers score and auditors check.
OKX and Bybit suit traders who want depth and regional licences, Bitget suits copy traders, KuCoin suits automation, and Gate suits anyone after the longest coin list.
Staying on IBIT Global makes sense if free BEP20 withdrawals or its VIP rates matter more to you than outside verification.
Whatever you choose, look the exchange up on CoinGecko and on your own regulator's warning list before you deposit.
This comparison is for information only if you live in the US, the UK or Australia, where a locally licensed platform is the safer route.
MEXC is not MiCA-authorized, so EU and EEA readers should weigh that, and anyone with a Dutch account faces an offboarding deadline of 31 October 2026 and closure on 16 November 2026.

Risk Warning and Regional Notice

Perpetual futures and leverage amplify both gains and losses, and positions can be liquidated for the full margin amount.
At 500x, a move of roughly 0.2% against a position can trigger liquidation, so high tiers suit only experienced traders with strict risk controls.
This article is informational for readers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, where the platforms discussed may not be available or authorised.
In the EU and EEA, MEXC is not authorized under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
The Dutch regulator AFM has placed MEXC on its register of non-compliant entities, which ESMA republishes, and readers in those regions should factor this status into any decision.
In a May 26, 2026 press release, the Seychelles Financial Services Authority said the company it identifies as operating the MEXC platform does not hold a licence under its Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024, that it is initiating enforcement measures, and that the public should exercise caution when dealing with the platform.
In a June 22, 2026 notice of fines, Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority said the entity operating as MEXC had served customers in Dubai without a licence from 2022 to April 2026 and onboarded users without meeting UAE know-your-customer requirements, and that it cooperated, complied with cease-and-desist orders and intends to seek a licence.
