Animoca Brands is expanding its Web3 creator strategy with the alibae platform, which combines AI tools, bounty-driven campaigns, and CHECK token incentives for builders.

AliBAE early access launch and opening bounty pool

Animoca Brands has introduced AliBAE, a new build-and-earn hub powered by Alibaba’s Qwen models, to link brands with creators through on-chain reward campaigns. The platform is now live in early access at alibae.build and debuts with an opening bounty pool of 100,000 CHECK Token (CHECK) spread across two launch initiatives by Animoca Minds and King’s Gambit.

The platform is structured around competitive build and earn campaigns in which brands post creative briefs and allocate a CHECK reward pool. Creators then respond using AliBAE Studio to produce AI-enhanced videos, applications, and other digital assets. However, rewards are not purely volume-based; they are determined by community engagement metrics and the AliBAE team’s judging framework.

How AliBAE Studio and Alibaba’s Qwen ecosystem power creation

AliBAE Studio, an integrated ai creation studio, sits at the core of the workflow. Each bounty brief is preloaded as a prompt, which lowers technical barriers for first-time participants and simplifies production for experienced builders. Moreover, by embedding the brief directly into the interface, AliBAE encourages creators to focus on narrative and execution instead of setup.

The studio runs on Alibaba Qwen models, a widely adopted open-source AI family. Animoca Minds, a cloud-based AI platform from Animoca Brands built to deploy persistent sovereign AI agents, is posting a 50,000 CHECK reward pool. The campaign seeks the best 20-second AI-generated video illustrating how personal AI agents might transform daily life. Moreover, submissions will be scored on a blended basis, with 50% weight on community engagement and 50% on quality assessment from judges.

This structure encourages both technical innovation and audience resonance. However, only the top entries that excel across both dimensions will share in the bounty, reinforcing AliBAE’s emphasis on meaningful creative output.

King’s Gambit content campaign

King’s Gambit, a chess survival mobile title developed by Anichess, is running a parallel content push with a separate 50,000 CHECK pool. This bounty will be distributed across ten winning submissions of short-form video inspired by the game’s mechanics and world. Entries are ranked solely on judging quality scores, prioritizing craft and thematic fit over pure reach.

The anichess kings gambit initiative leverages the existing game community while inviting new creators to experiment with chess-themed storytelling. That said, the focus on tightly edited, short-form content aligns with broader social media trends and favors creators who can communicate ideas efficiently.

Addressing structural gaps in the creator economy

AliBAE is explicitly designed to respond to long-standing issues in the global creator market. According to Precedence Research, the creator economy was valued at US$254.4 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach US$2,084.57 billion by 2035. However, financial rewards in this expanding sector remain heavily concentrated among a relatively small number of creators.

In many digital and Web3 systems, incentive models have often rewarded activity volume or task completion rather than the quality and originality of the final work. AliBAE aims to realign those incentives by tying rewards directly to creative contribution and measurable output quality. Moreover, its bounty system creates clear, transparent parameters for success that both brands and creators can understand.

Animoca Brands’ vision for AI-powered creator tools

Chevan Tin, head of Anichess and senior manager of operations and projects at Animoca Brands, highlighted this shift in a prepared statement. He noted that many existing digital reward systems still prioritize raw participation metrics instead of the value of contributions. As a result, highly engaged or technically skilled users may not be fairly compensated.

“Many digital reward systems prioritize participation volume over the quality of contributions. AliBAE is designed to take a different approach by linking rewards more directly to the work created and how well it is received. By combining Qwen Studio’s accessibility with CHECK as an on-chain reward mechanism, we aim to give creators and builders a more practical way to participate and earn,” Tin said. That said, the long-term success of the model will depend on sustained brand participation and creator adoption.

Early access to AliBAE is now available at alibae.build, where creators can explore the current bounty briefs and experiment with the integrated AI tools. Moreover, as additional campaigns and partner brands join, the platform is expected to expand its range of supported content formats and reward structures.
