Aster adjusts the economic structure of the ASTER token, significantly reducing the monthly unlock size.
PANews reported on March 30th that Aster announced a change to its previous monthly linear unlocking mechanism for Ecosystem tokens, switching to a "staking-only emission" model that distributes tokens solely through staking. This significantly reduces the number of ASTER tokens entering circulation each month. Previously, Ecosystem unlocked 78.4 million ASTER tokens monthly (approximately 1% of the maximum supply). Under the new mechanism, only 450,000 ASTER tokens are distributed per epoch (week) as staking rewards, corresponding to approximately 1.8 million to 2.25 million tokens per month. Aster stated that all Ecosystem and Community tokens unlocked since TGE on September 17, 2025, except for staking rewards, remain untouched.
