Mockery follows Noem after rumored lover spotted on her work trip

Photographs from former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's meeting with Guyana's president showed Corey Lewandowski seated beside her, reigniting scrutiny over their long-rumored relationship. Guardian reporter Hugo Lowell clarified that the Guyana trip was scheduled before her demotion in her DHS capacity, not as a State Department function.

While both Noem and Lewandowski deny romantic involvement, Lewandowski reportedly controlled much of the DHS during her tenure.

However, the White House had to clarify that Lewandowski would have no official role following Noem's demotion to Ambassador to the Shield of the Americas.

Social media commenters questioned why Lewandowski continued receiving government travel privileges and questioned the optics of their continued proximity, particularly after congressional inquiries about their professional relationship.

Conservative commentator Meghan McCain and others expressed bewilderment at Noem's decision to bring Lewandowski immediately following her dismissal from the DHS role.
