TLDR

  • Coinbase adds 24/7 US stock perps for global traders with up to 20x leverage.

  • Trade Apple, Microsoft, Tesla, and ETFs anytime via Coinbase’s derivatives engine.

  • Retail and institutions gain cross-margin access across crypto and stock markets.

  • Continuous trading lets traders respond instantly to global market events.

  • Coinbase strengthens its vision of the “Everything Exchange” for all major assets.

Coinbase (COIN) closed at $202.91, up 0.31%, after launching stock perpetual futures for global traders. The platform now allows 24/7 access to highly liquid US equities and ETFs. This expansion strengthens Coinbase’s position in international derivatives and unifies crypto and traditional asset trading under one infrastructure.

Coinbase Global, Inc., COIN

The new product allows traders to gain leveraged, synthetic exposure to US stocks continuously. It operates on Coinbase’s established perpetual futures engine with institutional-grade risk controls. This move responds to growing demand for capital-efficient access to US equities across global markets.

Coinbase enables both retail and institutional participants to access the new stock perps via advanced interfaces. Customers can manage exposure using cross-margining across perpetual futures and spot holdings. The offering includes up to 10x leverage for single stocks and 20x for ETFs, enhancing trading flexibility.

Magnificent 7 and ETFs Drive Initial Offering

Coinbase provides perpetual futures on Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, NVIDIA, Meta, and Tesla. Additionally, ETFs such as SPY and QQQ are available where regulatory approval allows. The selection targets high liquidity and continuous market participation across major sectors.

Stock perps on these assets allow weekend and holiday trading, complementing the traditional 24/5 US stock markets. The platform ensures USDC settlement through crypto rails, streamlining operations for global customers. Over time, Coinbase plans to expand coverage to other equities, indices, and commodities.

The introduction of ETFs supports efficient portfolio strategies and hedging for institutional clients. Continuous trading allows traders to respond to macro data and global events in real-time. Coinbase leverages its existing crypto derivatives infrastructure to maintain market integrity and risk discipline.

Strategic Implications for Global Derivatives Access

This launch positions Coinbase as one of the first centralized venues offering 24/7 stock perpetual futures. Global traders gain access without needing extensive capital or facing local market restrictions. The product bridges decentralized and regulated market offerings under a single platform.

Institutions benefit from cross-collateral efficiency and real-time risk management within Coinbase’s derivatives system. Retail participants can trade through the Advanced UI or APIs, aligning with the platform’s inclusive strategy. The 24/7 framework enables immediate reactions to volatility across crypto and equity markets.

Coinbase’s expansion signals a broader strategy of becoming a unified marketplace for emerging and traditional assets. It reinforces the company’s long-term vision of the “Everything Exchange” where all major assets coexist. The move may redefine how global traders access US equities in continuous trading environments.

EUR/CHF slides as Euro struggles post-inflation data

The post EUR/CHF slides as Euro struggles post-inflation data appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. EUR/CHF weakens for a second straight session as the euro struggles to recover post-Eurozone inflation data. Eurozone core inflation steady at 2.3%, headline CPI eases to 2.0% in August. SNB maintains a flexible policy outlook ahead of its September 25 decision, with no immediate need for easing. The Euro (EUR) trades under pressure against the Swiss Franc (CHF) on Wednesday, with EUR/CHF extending losses for the second straight session as the common currency struggles to gain traction following Eurozone inflation data. At the time of writing, the cross is trading around 0.9320 during the American session. The latest inflation data from Eurostat showed that Eurozone price growth remained broadly stable in August, reinforcing the European Central Bank’s (ECB) cautious stance on monetary policy. The Core Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), which excludes volatile items such as food and energy, rose 2.3% YoY, in line with both forecasts and the previous month’s reading. On a monthly basis, core inflation increased by 0.3%, unchanged from July, highlighting persistent underlying price pressures in the bloc. Meanwhile, headline inflation eased to 2.0% YoY in August, down from 2.1% in July and slightly below expectations. On a monthly basis, prices rose just 0.1%, missing forecasts for a 0.2% increase and decelerating from July’s 0.2% rise. The inflation release follows last week’s ECB policy decision, where the central bank kept all three key interest rates unchanged and signaled that policy is likely at its terminal level. While officials acknowledged progress in bringing inflation down, they reiterated a cautious, data-dependent approach going forward, emphasizing the need to maintain restrictive conditions for an extended period to ensure price stability. On the Swiss side, disinflation appears to be deepening. The Producer and Import Price Index dropped 0.6% in August, marking a sharp 1.8% annual decline. Broader inflation remains…
