BlackRock plans ETHB Ethereum ETF staking 70–95% of ETH, distributing 82% rewards, with 0.25% sponsor fee.

BlackRock is preparing a new Ethereum ETF that centers on staking rewards instead of price exposure alone. The proposed fund, named iShares Staked Ethereum Trust, is expected to trade under the ticker ETHB.

The structure is designed to distribute most staking income directly to investors within a regulated framework.

ETHB Set to Transform Ethereum Into a Yield-Generating Institutional Product defines the focus of the planned launch.

iShares Staked Ethereum Trust Targets Staking Income

BlackRock’s proposed ETF will focus on Ethereum staking rewards. The fund plans to stake between 70% and 95% of its ETH holdings.

This structure prioritizes yield generation within an exchange-traded product. A liquidity sleeve of 5% to 30% will remain unstaked.

This portion will support redemptions and daily operations. The approach allows the trust to meet investor demand while maintaining staking exposure.

The trust intends to distribute 82% of staking rewards to shareholders. The remaining 18% will be shared between BlackRock and Coinbase.

Coinbase is expected to act as the staking execution partner. The ETF will charge a 0.25% sponsor fee on assets.

This fee applies in addition to the reward-sharing structure. The model integrates blockchain-based rewards into a traditional fund vehicle.

Building on the Success of BlackRock’s ETHA

BlackRock already manages the iShares Ethereum Trust ETF under the ticker ETHA. That spot Ethereum ETF has accumulated more than $6 billion in assets since launch.

ETHA provides exposure to Ethereum price movements without staking rewards. ETHB introduces a different framework centered on yield distribution.

Investors would gain access to both ETH price performance and staking income. This design separates it from standard spot Ethereum ETFs.

Details about the proposed product surfaced through Arkham Intelligence on X. The firm has not confirmed an official launch date.

Market expectations indicate a possible debut in the first half of 2026. The ETF remains subject to regulatory review before approval.

No final timeline has been announced by BlackRock. The proposal outlines the structure but does not confirm operational launch details.

Institutional Access to Ethereum Staking Through ETF Format

Ethereum operates on a proof-of-stake network. Validators lock tokens to secure the network and process transactions. In return, participants receive rewards paid in ETH.

Through ETHB, institutional investors would access these staking rewards within a regulated ETF.

This format removes the need for direct custody of Ethereum. It also simplifies compliance and reporting requirements.

Exchange trading provides liquidity for investors. Shares can be bought and sold during market hours.

The structure aligns blockchain reward systems with traditional financial infrastructure. The reward distribution model places staking income at the center of the fund’s structure.

Shareholders would receive the majority of generated rewards after fees. BlackRock and Coinbase would retain a defined share for management and execution services.

If approved, ETHB would be among the first large-scale staking-focused ETFs from a major asset manager.

It expands BlackRock’s digital asset range and positions Ethereum as a yield-generating institutional product.

While operational details remain limited, the framework outlines staking levels, liquidity management, reward distribution, and sponsor fees, defining the fund’s intended structure.
