A growing crowd of angry bystanders gathered at the site of a federal immigration agent-involved shooting Saturday in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where tensions quickly escalated into clashes with law enforcement amid heightened federal immigration enforcement in the city.

“You’re gonna have to kill me!” shouted one bystander as they were being apprehended by federal officers.

“I’m 70 years old and I’m f------ angry!” shouted another man, surrounded by tear gas deployed by law enforcement to disburse the growing crowd.

Outside of a donut shop in Minneapolis, at least seven federal officers were captured on video wrestling a man to the ground before firing off several shots at the individual, who has since been pronounced dead. An angry crowd quickly grew to around 100 people by 10:30 a.m. local time, prompting law enforcement to deploy tear gas to control the scene.

“ICE out, right now,” the crowd could be heard chanting at the 30 or so law enforcement officers, who proceeded to arrest at least one individual in the crowd.

The crowd quickly grew to at least 300 people, causing a “gridlock of cars clogging the road,” The New York Times reported

“I smell Nazis,” the crowd could be heard chanting as law enforcement officials continued to deploy tear gas.

One protester, who the Times reported had either “dropped or threw his sunglasses,” was pepper-sprayed in the face, and was soon treated by protestors for their injury.

Just before 11:45 a.m. local time, law enforcement officials deployed flashbang grenades and more tear gas as protesters began advancing, the Times reported.
