CIG Motors, the company currently operating the Lagride platform, has announced the sacking of its Executive Director, Jubril Arogundade. This was disclosed in a statement sent to Technext by the management of the company. According to the statement, Mr Arogundade was sacked following findings relating to financial misconduct and abuse of executive authority.

Jubril Arogundade’s appointment with CIG Motors Co. Ltd. has been terminated, effective immediately, following internal findings relating to financial misappropriation and abuse of authority,” the statement reads.

CIG Motors said Arogundade’s employment was terminated after due process, noting that the decision followed established internal procedures and was taken in line with its corporate governance and compliance obligations.

Further allegations by CIG Motors

In its statement, CIG Motors revealed that Jubril Arogundade, who provides the image of a loving family man, is being accused of truncating the growth of female employees for years in CIG Motors once they refuse his advances. This has led to high turnover of female employees who have worked directly with him.

The company confirmed that its internal process also examined workplace conduct concerns, including inappropriate behaviour towards female members of staff. It said it has continued to receive corroborating information from current and former employees, which is being documented and handled through appropriate legal, HR, and regulatory channels.

It noted that online commentary has surfaced suggesting that whistleblowers and individuals claiming to be victims are preparing to speak publicly about Mr Arogundade’s activities. Social media users have referenced an Instagram handle, victims of jubril, and an email address, victimsofjubril@gmail.com, as channels through which accounts are being collected.

CIG Motors further disclosed that certain behavioural issues had previously been raised and addressed through formal reprimands, extended in good faith and with the expectation of correction. However, despite receiving support

Mr Arogundade had been afforded structured mentorship, senior-level exposure, and institutional support, which he had publicly acknowledged; however, the findings ultimately established conduct in violation of the Group’s zero-tolerance standards, rendering continued employment untenable,” the company’s statement reads.

CIG Motors says it has not confirmed its position on the claims and that it will address all matters strictly through lawful and regulatory processes. It also disclosed that matters relating to financial impropriety arising from the investigation have been formally referred to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for independent investigation.

The Company reaffirmed that it is a law-abiding institution deeply embedded in Nigeria’s economic fabric, with operations spanning vehicle distribution, mobility services, after-sales, and employment across multiple states. It also noted that it continues to operate at scale and recently completed one of the largest single automobile sales and delivery transactions in Nigeria’s history, underscoring operational continuity and market confidence.

CIG Motors will pursue accountability strictly through lawful and regulatory processes and will not engage in media exchanges or narrative disputes as investigations continue,” the company said.
