Stranger Things Season 5 has finally returned to Netflix, with the first four thrilling episodes now streaming. Don’t worry, more episodes of the streamer’s hit sci-fi horror series are coming soon. Keep reading to find out when Volume 2 and the finale will be released.
The next chapter sees your favorite characters return — including Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will (Noah Schnapp), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), and more — to Hawkins to take down Vecna once and for all.
With the rifts open and Vecna’s whereabouts unknown, they must all work together to track the monster down before it’s too late. However, complicating the group’s mission is the government’s military quarantine, as officials intensify their hunt for Eleven and investigate the rifts.
“As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread,” Netflix’s official synopsis teases. “The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
Netflix’s release strategy for its biggest titles has been to split new seasons into multiple parts. Stranger Things Season 4 was released in two installments, and series like Wednesday, Bridgerton and Emily in Paris also received the two-part treatment.
But because Stranger Things is one of Netflix’s most popular series ever, and this is its fifth and final season, it makes sense that Season 5 is being released in three parts across multiple holiday weekends. Additionally, the final episode will be screened in more than 350 theaters across the U.S. and Canada beginning Dec. 31, giving the show the proper sendoff it deserves.

Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 premieres on Dec. 25, 2025, Christmas Day, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Netflix, nearly one month after the release of Volume 1.
