In a significant move for sports and blockchain technology, Tixbase has partnered with Avalanche to offer a digital-first, secure ticketing experience for the upcoming Copa América de Béisbol 2025. This collaboration is set to transform how fans engage with live events, according to avax.network.
A New Era for Ticketing
As baseball enthusiasts gather at Estadio Mariano Rivera in Panama City from November 13 to 22, 2025, they will encounter a novel ticketing system that promises speed and security. This event will feature 26 games with teams from Puerto Rico, Argentina, Colombia, Canada, Brazil, and Panama, drawing an expected crowd of over 200,000 fans.
Tixbase, leveraging Avalanche’s blockchain technology, is set to eliminate traditional ticketing challenges such as fraud and scalping. With mobile-only access and rotating barcodes, every ticket is authenticated and traceable, ensuring a seamless entry for fans.
Technological Advancements
Notably, Tixbase is rolling out its own Avalanche Layer 1 (L1) chain, powered by AvaCloud, specifically for high-volume ticketing. This infrastructure allows Tixbase to manage ticket issuance and verification, enhancing the overall fan experience while maintaining cost efficiency and transparency.
The bespoke Avalanche L1 chain provides Tixbase with the capacity to process thousands of ticket scans per second, mitigating delays during peak times. Additionally, the blockchain’s transparency ensures that every ticket is recorded onchain, virtually eliminating the risks of fraud and scalping.
