PETALING JAYA: Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) said it has reinforced its digital security infrastructure to protect its exclusive Fifa World Cup 2026 broadcast rights following attempts to watch the matches via RTMKlik from overseas using virtual private network (VPN) applications.
“RTM continuously monitors and upgrades its system to ensure platform stability,” it said in a statement.
RTM said it is committed to ensuring local viewers can enjoy the service seamlessly and thanked the public for their feedback.
In May, it was reported that the national broadcaster and Unifi TV are Malaysia’s official broadcasters of the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
UnifiTV will broadcast all matches live (for a RM50 or RM60 pass) on three channels while RTM will screen most of the matches, including through its app, RTMKlik.
